TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My teaching is based on a combination of the philosophies of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki and a more traditional approach to music education. I believe every child has the ability to learn music with the right combination of support and dedication. Every child is unique and therefore needs a unique approach to learning an instrument. I have had incredible teachers throughout the years who have all had different teaching methods. This has shown me how to tailor my teaching methods to each of my students based on their individual needs. I aim to teach a balance of technical ability and musical expression. Technique allows you to perform efficiently and progress quickly, expression allows people to connect to the music. Both are equally important and needed.
